Woodland samples

Some of our woodland samples have begun to grow.  The sycamore, white beam and rowan seeds have begun to grow.  As yet the bluebell seeds have shown no sign of growth and the tree samples have no signs of roots.

Fungi

We have found fungi in our woods.
this is a honey mushroom.
They can grow in forests.
The term honey mushroom may sound tasty but not everyone is a fan of these honey coloured mushrooms.

Flower Power 2



These are Cyclamen again but they have grown and there is a lot more.                                                                   







We have now found out that cyclamen need shade to grow, take 2-3 years to get to the flowering stage, normally grow from 10-30 cm tall and flower from August-September.

Stick piles







To encourage wildlife in the woods we have made stick piles at 8 different spots in the wood.  We will check them before the Christmas holidays to see if there is anything living in them.
